«D-CH» 1994

D-CH is a body of black and white photographs that was generated during the hight of diverse wars in Yugoslavia in 1994/1995. It shows the 'green' border between Germany and Switzerland. A border that was kept tight for most refugees during WWII. I thought of those bosnian refugees who were pushed back and forth and who tried to rescue themselves through the woods hopefully by passing a simple border. More then twenty years after its production again millions of persecuted and unprivileged people from diverse conflict and war zones are seeking refuge in Europe, which passage of a simple border could provide.

The border walks project «D-CH» resulted in an artist book. A unique piece that is on display in Paris at Librarie 213 / Antoine de Beaupré (antoine@galerie213.com) and is featured among important works by German artist photographers in Antoine's publication: 'en Allemagne' www.galerie213.com

An edition of selected vintage fiber based silver gelatin prints (50cm x 55cm framed, 2016) is now available. Edition of five.
